Situation
This is a project for the Google Business Intelligence Certification.
Cyclistic’s Customer Growth Team is creating a business plan for next year . The team wants to understand how their customers are using their bikes, their top priority is identifying customer demand at different station locations.
Task
As a Business Intelligence Analyst I gathered the requirements for creating the tables and the dashboard which would demonstrate how customers are using bikes and what impacts demand at station locations.
Action
Applied an E.T.L process:
Identified data sources and created a schema of the data
Pulled the data from the data lake - Big Query
Used SQL to create Fact or target tables which were later used to create visualizations in Tableau
In Tableau the tables and dashboard were created with feedback from stake holders

Result
The outcome was a user friendly Dashboard that shows year over year bike usage growth, the most popular bike stations by neighborhood and the relation between weather and demand for rides.
The impact is in identifying key geographical areas where there is potential for more bike stations and a clear understanding that geographically Manhattan is very saturated and therefore the opportunity lies on other burrows outside the island.
The weather doesn't seem to be a clear factor in the usage of the bikes.
Reflection
Through this project, I learned the importance of getting clear information about what stake holders actually need and making sure all the task members are aligned with the goal.
In the future I would conduct more user feedback to make sure that the people that use the dashboard are comfortable with it and get the information they from need from it.
I would suggest emphasizing work with geographical data in Tableau to achieve a finer granularity of bike usage data.
